This year has been an especially tough one for Two Spirit, transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender diverse Oklahomans, who have been the target of an egregious volume of policy attacks out of the Oklahoma Legislature and the Governor’s office. March 31st marks the annual Transgender Day of Visibility. Unlike the more somber Transgender Day of Remembrance each November, Transgender Day of Visibility is a joyous occasion to celebrate the Transgender and Gender Diverse members of our community. And celebrate them we shall.

We’re inviting everyone to join our celebration by lifting up Two Spirit, transgender, and gender diverse Oklahomans with your version of a Love Letter!

We know that art has always been central to celebrations for 2SLGBTQ+ folks, so use the medium that makes sense for you. We want to see your photos, your videos, your zines, your quilts, your knitting, your protest signs, your poetry, your handwritten letters, and everything in between. Share a message of gratitude, solidarity, or celebration of the multitudes of how lucky we are to be connected through community. You can share your experiences, highlight resilience, or remind folks they’re not alone, even/especially here in Oklahoma.

Tag Freedom Oklahoma on social media, use the hashtag #TDoVOklahoma22, DM us your submissions, or fill out THIS FORM, and we'll spend the day highlighting the beautiful, expansive community we celebrate on Transgender Day of Visibility and beyond. We’ll share out as much as we can to make this celebration one that folks can look back to throughout the tougher moments still ahead.
