As we look to another election cycle, we know 2SLGBTQ+ Oklahomans are painfully aware of how much local elections and down ballot races can impact our day to day lives. We’re holding this space not to offer an endorsement, but rather in offering 2SLGBTQ+ Oklahomans an opportunity to hear from folks vying for our votes about how they plan to prioritize, engage, and support our community. We decided to start with the Tulsa mayoral race, both because it is the most immediate election (Election Day is August 27), and happens on a scale that often allows for a very small electorate to choose someone who can have great day to day power over our lives. We extended an invitation to folks on the ballot for Tulsa Mayor, and will have a conversation with candidates who accept our invitation about how they’re including 2SLGBTQ+ folks in the work they hope to do if elected.
Register to join us for the August 18 3 PM virtual discussion here.
Note: This is an informative space with invitations extended to candidates across the political spectrum, not an endorsement event.
