IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING GENDER MARKER CORRECTIONS:

Kevin Stitt's 2023 Executive Order complicates things regarding gender marker corrections. The EO does functionally ban gender marker corrections on any Oklahoma documents and instructs relevant agencies to create policies that adhere to this Executive Order. Additionally, the OK State Department of Health is still not issuing amended birth certificates. While there are no penalties for petitioning the court, there are still no guarantees on how your experience will be in court or at relevant agencies when attempting to update your information. And, you are only able to appeal a rejection one time and that will require legal support.

It's important to note that Executive Orders expire when the governor terms out, so these limitations are not permanent. None of these restrictions limit your ability to legally change your name. You are more than welcome to utilize your appointment time to discuss this information further.*
